#ROW80 Checkin – Nothing to See Here

Move on, nothing to see here.

Nothing significant to report, I spent too much time last week combing my alpaca (and redesigning his feet), my daughter spent her last day on summer holidays with me Monday, and on Tuesday, when she finally did go back to school, I had a tooth extraction which saw me bleeding, raw and slightly overly medicated for the rest of the day. My alpaca is happy – Arnie has had a lot of scape-isms to eat this week.

Oh, I did start work on several new blog posts for the upcoming A-Z Blogging Challenge in April. Which includes – shiver – some plans for some short fiction. And I have kept to my goals of spending 2 hours min. on writing each day. And I’m still working on another blog series on forensic psychology and offender profiling (to be published at Hunter Emkay.com). And, and, and (gotta grip girl!).

And then there’s these two posts – for ROW80 and the Insecure Writers Support Group (in which I discuss my blehs) – I’m cheating here, and have written these partially prior to my tooth surgery. Anything that doesn’t make sense – put it down to my medication, and forgive me. (actually, I gave up on the medication, it made me sick, so I’m now woozy-via-achy-jaw and smiling-with-grimace.

Want to see what other fellow RoWers got up to? I’m sure it must have been more than me, at least. Find them all at the ROW80 linky list you’ll find on the latest blog post.

The A to Z Blogging in April Challenge opened up on Monday for signups. Join me and other possible overextenders on the challenge.

New Goals for February

I’m going to stick to my 2 hours per day, 4 days per week for my WIP (or short fiction also). Once out of blehdom, I’m hoping to put in more than that.

I’m adding an extra goal for February to nut out my marketing or promotional plans for the year – not intensive or anything, but this will set a timeframe for completing the first draft of the WIP and revising etc, if I have some kind of schedule going. Cross fingers, toes, and alpaca two-toes also.

I’ve also got quite a lot of pre-writing to do for April’s blogging A to Z challenge.

And perhaps a final overly ambitious goal – I want to try for one 10K day on my WIP during this month. Probably late in the month while my daughter is off on school camp somewhere, I think.

  1. Thank you for introducing the A to Z blog challenge. I’m put it on my calendar to see if I can get some of the posts written before, I’m going for it. I just made a list of A to Z of character stereotypes/sketches to explore. Like Alpha Male, the Nosy Neighbor, the Rogue etc. Q, V, X, and Z were tough, but I’ve got some. 🙂 Thinking about doing a whole RPG type character write up, strengths and weaknesses. FUN!

    1. Thanks for the comment, Sonia. I am healing well, and after taking a day out, am back on track today to put in some more WhIP.

  2. Sorry to hear about the death of your tooth, I hope the funeral wasn’t too much to bear? lol

You’re over the 45,000 mark with your Wip, YAY. Good luck with the 10k day, I know you have it in you.

  3. The first line makes me think. “These aren’t the droids you’re looking for. He can go about his business. Move along.” Aww. I hope your mouth begins feeling better. Good luck on the blog posts!
