An update on my ROW80 goals this last week. No work on the WIP, but thousands of words on blog posts, ready for the A to Z Blogging Challenge in April. You’ll have to take my word for the amount of wordage I’ve been putting in, and by osmosis, I am writing with research in areas that will benefit my WIP fiction novel, so – everything’s a help. Right?
Last week I attempted my first ever piece of flash fiction also, for the 4th Writer’s Platform Building challenge. I really enjoyed the experiment and comments that came from it, even if the few that appeared confused by my writing signafied that I still need to master the subtlety in so few words. It gave me great joy to find I was shortlisted to the second round, but that was just a bonus. What I really got out of it was the first time I’d ever published anything in front of – *gasp* some public.
Last week and this week, I’ve been doing the blog rounds, reading other’s work, commenting and ‘liking’ their work where applicable. I also owe some ROW80 comments also, but will need to save that until Friday because –
Tomorrow, Thursday, 1st March – is…drumroll please…my big 10K Day.
It came around quicker than I expected.
I’ve just updated the widget wordcount picometer on my sidebar, to take me up to today. Then, you’ll see whether I succeed or not by Friday.
I have the full day to myself tomorrow, although today and the Friday, will be busy. So the day was not selected as much as pointed towards me. It will be odd moving back from all this research and blogging into my fiction, but I’m hoping for success or at least a large movement.
Note: this is published on a leap day. I have no idea what that means, but a day that comes around every four years must have some bearing on all of it, surely.
