On yesterday’s post I introduced the Blogging from A to Z challenge. On this, my writing blog, I intend to attempt to write 26 pieces of short fiction posted over April. This post will form the index and a quick explanation to those posts.
Introduction to the short fiction this month
As a quick explanation, the fiction I intend to write each day will consist of some short fiction – stories, set in the world occupied by my main character in my current work in progress.
Each story will involve different characters – most aren’t planned to any degree, so the stories will be quite random. But overall, over the month, the short stories should add up to one overall storyline, as each is inter-related. However, given the A to Z theme, the stories will probably be out of sequence, as they are published.
If you like these stories, or want to wish me good luck etc, please leave some comments. I’m not experienced at short fiction writing, and with little plans, this whole series may appear quite random, and inconsistent in format, and quality. For me, it will be a learning experience, and one I’m looking forward to, with some dread also.
Introduction to Story Setting
Blue Finchett, a forensic psychologist, is the main character for my WIP. However, the A-Z short stories published on this blog this coming month only touch peripherally on Blue herself.
In these stories, Blue is found years before my current WIP, as a PhD student studying her final years in Investigative and Forensic Psychology at the University of Liverpool. Liverpool, and to some extent, the University, is the setting for these stories.
Index of Short Fiction
This index will be built as short stories are shared on this blog.
