#atozchallenge R is for Rituals and Routines for Writers [Writuals]

Stories abound about eccentric authors who could only write if doing so in the buff, or accompanied by some specific knick-knacks, a special branded pen, or two family dogs asleep beside them.

Now psychologists say these odd habits or rituals serve a purpose. A successful writer will form their own core habits around rituals and routines which signify the movement into writing.

#atozchallenge P is for Pomodoro (and Butt Out of Chair) for Writers

Most writers know of the acronym – BICFOK: Butt in chair, fingers on keyboard. It leverages off the maxim: Writer’s Write.

Within reason, I say. Because now I’m going to propose a new acronym, BOOCWAW – Butt Out of Chair, Walk around Writing.

And the Pomodoro system for time management will allow us to get the most of both our BICFOC time and BOOCWAW.
